Domestic Violence takes on a wider meaning like a Homonym, it sounds the same, but the violence is in a home larger than our own, this home is the United States of America. An America that has always had a racist character. A character that has been hidden, disguised, silenced, and secret until 45 wanted to make America Racist Again.

Unlike Domestic Violence in the way that we have come to know it, a member of our household is abusing another household member. That abused member will remain silent, hide their scars, live in fear, and often forgive their abuser over and over again.

Domestic Violence on a broader scale brought the abusers out of the closet, out of their homes, out of their fear of the laws governing this country to protect ALL American citizens and gave them the okay by the leader at the time to stand by and stand proud for what was called, “Patriotism.” Like many others, I knew immediately when 45 began calling the Covid-19 virus, the China Virus, or other descriptions too vile to repeat, that the so-called Patriots and just evil people in general would begin attacking the Asian community with the same violence and hatred imposed on African Americans and people of color every day.

Domestic Violence in America has graduated to Domestic Terrorism, with mass shootings reoccurring because gun retailers, so eager to make a sale will not take the time to background check the buyer / the potential murderer. I often wonder if the gun shop owner feels any remorse when little children die, or parishioners die in a church. Do they ask themselves why does anyone need an assault rifle that should only be used in Military Combat?

Yes, we have the right to bear arms in this country, but no where in the U.S. Constitution or in the Bible does it say that we have the right to murder, abuse people or take the law into our own hands.

Exodus 20.13, Deuteronomy 5.17 reads, you shall not murder. It is forbidden to execute a murderer before he has stood trial. The murderer shall not die before he stands before the congregation for judgment. In these instances, it is forbidden to execute a murderer, so what should be the punishment for someone who executes a man for passing a counterfeit bill, perhaps a bill that he wasn’t even aware was fake, or for someone who was stopped for a missing tail light, expired tags, someone simply jogging on the street, walking in a neighborhood that is not prone to, or fearful of brown boys in hoodies or even worse someone lying in her own bed asleep in her own home? After that I have no words.
