Could it be that the moon isn’t in the seventh house,

and Jupiter isn’t aligning with Mars?

Is it possible that mothers aren’t hugging and showering their sons with love?

Because I just read the following news reports:

A man killed his pregnant girlfriend and her two-year-old daughter.

Another man killed his girlfriend and threw her two-year-old son off a bridge.

Fatal violence has become so commonplace in our society that theirs no longer a Shock Factor. As women, we fight for equality, we create vaccines that cure deadly viruses, we train Olympians to become champions, we obliterate glass ceilings, we become supreme court justices and vice presidents and still millions of us encounter abuse at work, at home and in our everyday lives, in every ethnicity, every socio-economic background and everywhere in the world.

What is the answer? What’s the solution? Which abuser/murderer will finally get the absolute full attention of our flawed and biased judicial system, of our understaffed and underfunded mental health organizations, of our ill-informed, underfunded, and understaffed children and family services programs, of our often unkind, and often uncaring police officers that respond to situations with no formal education on dealing with domestic violence? When is a Restraining Order going to initiate agency/officer enforcement before it becomes a “Warrant to Kill” the person seeking protection?

When is ENOUGH going to ever be ENOUGH, when it comes to domestic violence, workplace violence, violence against women, men, and children?

Parents, teach your children to respect you and women, but also be the mother/father deserving of their respect.
