Former socialite and companion to the late Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell sentenced to 20 years imprisonment on June 28, 2022.

Ms. Maxwell, age 60 is guilty of child sex trafficking in 2021 for her role in seeking out underage girls for sexual relationships with Jeffrey Epstein and other high profile male socialites.

Maxwell, a stepmother to her husband’s two children, lured young girls by telling them that she was a model scout, searching for attractive females for upcoming magazine shoots. Maxwell manipulated and sexually exploited young girls for years.

The victims, all of whom are now adults, described Maxwell as initially trusting and kind until introduced to Epstein. Once they reported to her what Epstein other men had done to them, they described her behavior as cruel, abusive, and threatening.

The Prosecution described her conduct as calculating, and shockingly predatory. She preyed on underage girls and groomed them for sex with middle aged men.

Jeffrey Epstein formally held in a federal jail and killed himself while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Maxwell maintains her innocence and quietly addressed her accusers after the sentencing, stating that she hopes her 20-year sentence will bring her accusers’ comfort. She offered no apology and showed no remorse.
